Teapot: Dancing Hours
A rare example of Flaxman's Dancing Hours.
Flaxman's version was lost around 1800, and Hackwood created the more restrained version we know from later examples. Flaxman's are much freer, with more flowing drapery. As good as Hackwood was, Flaxman was his superior. Interesting to find it on a pot by another maker.
Marked on edge of footrim.
The lid is the right period, and style; but unlikely to be original. Probably a Wedgwood lid.
