Tea Bowl & Saucer - Red Line pattern

Tea bowl and saucer decorated with the 'Red Line' pattern consisting of alternating panels  of painted under glaze-blue ground with cenrtral iron red flower, and panels of over-glaze red, yellow and green flower sprays. Redlines are painted top and bottom of these panels and an under-glaze blurred border is on each piece.

The factory had difficulty at times with control of the cobalt blue and stored stocks which were sold to outside decoraters who did on-glaze painting up to 1775.
