Decorated with "Friendship Consoling Affliction." This design, created by Josiah Wedgwood in the late 18th century, shows a female figure of Affliction being comforted by a male figure of Friendship. The figures are typically depicted as a woman seated on a rock or throne, with a veil covering her head and a man kneeling before her, offering comfort and support.
This design was widely popular and was produced in a variety of colors and sizes, making it one of Wedgwood's most recognizable and enduring designs.
