The prints on the mug also occur on a Bow ovoid vase marked on the base with the letter ‘B’ in blue underglaze, Guy-Jones, 2013, #42A and 50B, pp 64-65 and 76-77. The Pheasants from an engraving by Pierce Tempest after Francis Barlow’s Various Birds and Beasts Drawn from Life . The Two Sheep adapted from an engraving from The Compleat Drawing Master, 1766, probably after the Dutch artist Nicolaes Berchem (1620-1683); illustrated Guy-Jones, #50.
