Josiah Wedgwood produced a series of black basalt medals modeled on the works of Jean Dassier. The Dassier Medals, originally created by Jean Dassier in the 18th century, depicted famous individuals from various fields such as politics, literature, and science. There were 60 such medals producedin the Roman History series.
