Sauce Boat: Barleycorn
An excellent example of the popular Barleycorn pattern, crisply moulded in panels to the sides, with graceful sprigs. The twisted handles with their impressed terminals are the prototype of the sort that will be seen on the creamware versions in the 1770s. The design is just on the cusp of the beginning of the rococo movement.
Provenance: Oster Collection, Trigg Collection, Johnathon Horne.
