Figure: Faun with Flute
After the antique “Piping Faun” now in the Louvre Museum; the result of it being bought by Napoleon from the Borghese collection. The original is thought to be a Roman copy of a 4th Century BC bronze.
The seam marks, which are typical of large basalt figures of the period, show up rather more in my photography than in ordinary domestic lighting.
