Enamelled plaque: Arms of the Earl of Winton

Pearlware plaque, depicting the coat of arms of the family of Seton of Garlton, or the Earls of Winton. The Setons are an old Scots recusant family.

The plaque is decorated with high temperature underglaze colours, generaly known as Prattware; and one or two additions of ruby lustre over the glaze.
