Portrait on Ivory of a gentleman of substance, wearing what appears to be the Order of Dannebrog, a Danish order. Surrounded by a braided sample of the subject's hair, and set in a finely worked gold case in the form of a watch. The back set with a Wedgwood jaser medallion, showing Cupid blowing a trumpet (symbolic of fame), and a sad dog sitting by a tomb.
